Page Traveller is Nominated for the Liebster Award!

Liebster Award Cover

First of all, let me start with a disclaimer: the Liebster Award is definitely not a big fancy trophy. It’s not some kind of Blog Oscar (Blogscar?) or the ‘Digital Nomad’ equivalent of a Grammy. Kanye West isn’t about to come out of the woodwork with a round of, ‘Imma let you finish…’, Meryl Streep isn’t going to get in trouble for a politically-motivated acceptance speech and Adele isn’t going to say ‘fuck’ every five minutes.

What is the Liebster Award?

The Liebster Award is an ‘award’ passed from travel blogger to travel blogger by nomination. The aim of the award is to connect writers together and raise the profile of lesser-known travel bloggers (like lil ole me). Read more

My Ultimate Travel Playlist [Video]

My Ultimate Travel Playlist

Welcome to my ultimate travel playlist!

There are some songs that just hit you in the right spot at the right time. Whether I’m taking road trip, packing a suitcase, stuck on a long train journey or just waiting in the departure lounge for a flight, this is the playlist that I always turn to.

Perhaps it’s because of an upbeat melody, poignant lyrics or simply because I associate a song with good memories, but these songs never fail to get me in the mood for the next adventure.

You can also listen to the whole playlist on YouTube and Spotify.

1. Dakota, Stereophonics

I don’t know where we are going now.

2. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, Coldplay

I’d rather be a comma than a full stop. Maybe I’m in the black. Maybe I’m on my knees. Maybe I’m in the gap between to the two trapezes.

3. Boston, Augustana

I think I need a sunrise. I’m tired of the sunset. I hear it’s nice in the summer. Some snow would be nice.

4. O… Saya, AR Rahman feat. M.I.A., Slumdog Millionaire Soundtrack

Pick up the pack on my journey. Don’t suddenly start to follow me.

5. Hand in My Pocket, Alanis Morisette

And what it all comes down to is that no one’s really got it figured out just yet.

6. Anything Could Happen, Ellie Goulding

Since we found out that anything could happen, anything could happen.

7. Oh My God, Kaiser Chiefs

Oh my god, I can’t believe it, I’ve never been this far away from home.

8. Send Me On My Way, Rusted Root

I would like to reach out my hand. I may see you, I may tell you to run. You know what they say about the young.

9. Hoppipolla, Sigur Ros

10. Closer to the Edge, 30 Seconds to Mars

No, no, no, no, I will never forget. No, no, I will never regret. No, no, I will live my life. No, I’m not saying I’m sorry. One day, maybe we’ll meet again.

11. Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, U2

I have run, I have crawled, I have scaled these city walls, these city walls. Only to be with you. But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.

12. Fast Car, Tracy Chapman

You got a fast car. I want a ticket to anywhere.

13. All These Things That I’ve Done, The Killers

When there’s nowhere else to run, is there room for one more sun?

14. Paper Planes, M. I. A

I fly like paper, get high like planes,
If you catch me at the border I got visas in my name.

15. Roma – Bangkok, Baby K

Senza sapere quando, andata senza ritorno, ti seguirei fino in capo al mondo, all’ultimo secondo, volerei da te da Milano fino a Hong Kong, passando per Londra, da Roma e fino a Bangkok, cercando te…

Without knowing when, one-way with no return, I’d follow you till the top of the world, at the last second, I would fly to you from Milan to Hong Kong, passing through London, from Rome to Bangkok, looking for you…

If you haven’t got a bad case of itchy feet after that, there’s something wrong with you. The playlist is up on YouTube and Spotify if you want a listen. Or have any suggestions to add that I’ve missed out? Let me know…
