The Best Buddha Quotes About Life

Spread the love

Who else loves a good Buddha quote? *Raises hand* Yup, sometimes I just need a little pick-me-up from the B. Man. So, if you’re like me, then please enjoy this little compilation of the best Buddha quotes about life that have finally pulled me out of my blog slump.

After #40days40blogs I kinda burnt out on blog writing. My week off turned into two… or maybe three… and then four. I’ve still been working on here behind the scenes, polishing up content and improving the site in general. But, I’ll admit that I’ve been putting off the actual writing for a while.

Then, last week was the ole Buddha’s Birthday, a public holiday in Hong Kong, though sadly not back here in the UK (Corbyn, add it to the list?). I found myself getting sucked down the rabbit hole of Pinterest ‘Buddha Quote’ pins with equal amounts of procrastination and (p)inspiration…

Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.

Buddha Quote Peace- Young Buddhist Monk With Umbrella

Everything that has a beginning has an ending. Make your peace with that and all will be well.

Buddha Quote Life - Young Monk with Water

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

Buddha Quote Happiness - Gold Statue

Three things cannot be hidden long: the sun, the moon, and the truth. Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

Buddha Quote Truth - Tree Face

It is better to travel well than to arrive.

Buddha Quote Travel - Statue

No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.

Buddha Quote Motivation - Black Statue and Leaves

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.

Buddha Quote Love - Figure on Rock

A jug fills drop by drop.

Buddha Quote Inspiring - Big Buddha Statue in Hong Kong

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

Buddha Quote Happiness and Sharing - Young Monks Playing with Water

You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.

Buddha Quote Anger and Redemption - White Statue and Sky

Phew, I feel better already and I hope you found your motivation too. These are, in my humble non-Buddhist opinion, the best Buddha quotes about LIFE and such things. Oh, plus the fruits of my past few weeks working on my graphic design skills and Pinterest game!

Go on, pin your fave!

    1. Yes! That’s something I try to remind myself of, whether it’s good or bad – this too will pass. It’s comforting in times of pain, but emphasises how you should be thankful for the good times too.
